MISSION

 

Transmitting an Armenian education to  students attending foreign schools.  

 

HISTORY

 

The Saturday Armenian School of Sourp Hagop Church is one of the first Armenian educational institutions of Montreal.

The school was established in 1958 with 35 students when the Church was situated on Saint-Zotique Street.

Now, classes take place within the building of Sourp Hagop School.

 

ACTIVITIES

 

Around 45 Students range from 5 to 17 years old, from pre-school to Secondary 5.

The Saturday school has a staff of 9, 6 of them are teachers, one music teacher, one principal and one secretary.  

Armenian language, history and literature are taught.

Students of secondary schools receive government credits.

Many of the Saturday school’s graduates actively take part in activities of Armenian organizations of Montreal.
